We have set-up a Micro Braille Unit in Chennai, India

This climate controlled unit was designed by our CEO for specific use in hot climates. As well as keeping the temperature and humidity at optimum levels the cabinet is also soundproofed and keeps the equipment dust free.

The unit has been installed in India and has enabled Mission to the Blind, in Chennai, to produce several booklet titles in all of the major Indian languages. For Compass Braille this installation is an ongoing development/research project that is part-funded by one of our supporters.

We anticipate that we will be able to repeat this model for use by organisations working among people with visual disabilities in other countries.

As with all our projects, fundraising will play a critical part in the expansion of this programme.
